Interview with Captain Megan Kahn in the latest volume of War, Literature & the Arts

I’m deeply honored to have an interview published in the latest volume of War, Literature and the Arts alongside such amazing voices as Elliot Ackerman, Colin Halloran, and Brandon Lingle. Thanks so much to all the great and tireless minds who run the Journal and who have been so supportive of our work at Incoming, especially Jesse Goolsby, Megan Kahn, and Donald Anderson. One can read it here and I hope that you do.

Citybeat Best People of San Diego Award

I’m beyond flattered to be named among the amazing artists and leaders who received this award from San Diego CityBeat, but it’s shared woth everyone who has ever participated in So Say We All–all the Board members who have mentored and guided us, all the writers who have trusted us with their voice, all the volunteers that have given us their time–who carried us from a cafe’s backroom into what we are today and what we’re becoming. These last almost-eight years were buoyed by the belief our collective efforts were adding years and quality to the lives we met along the way, and I hope it’s only the beginning. Here’s to all of you who choose vulnerability and laughter over cynicism, we owe you more than words can express. I look forward to doing even greater things together.

AM Radio Debut on Military Mondays on AM1170 KCBQ!

Today I broke into AM radio at long last, my favorite listening device when driving cross-country, thanks to AJ Brooks facilitating our arrival on AM 1170 KCBQ alongside my stalwart partner Julia Dixon Evans. Give a listen here! Without a doubt one of the most fun interviews I’ve ever done.

We also had some fun with the juxtaposition of the sponsors on a banner in the lobby, because trolls gonna troll.

Light for the Lonely: SSWA / Thumbprint Gallery crossover

It was an honor to be a part of the So Say We All / Thumbprint Gallery crossover show, “Manufacturing Significance,” in earlier this April. My visual arts better half, RBST, snagged this video of me reading the story I wrote in response to his piece, The Offfice…, which I ended up after way too much deliberation titling, “Light for the Lonely.” Check it out and more of his awesome work here.
